On June 13, 2019, the Expert Committee of China-ASEAN Chamber of Agricultural Commerce (CACAC) was launched on the 2019 China-ASEAN Matchmaking Meeting for Agricultural Products, Capacity and Technology held in Hangzhou. More than 100 leaders, experts, and entrepreneurs in the fields of agriculture, economy and trade of China, ASEAN and other countries witnessed the unveiling ceremony.

As an advisory body and think tank of CACAC, the Expert Committee will strive to provide professional and scientific support for international agricultural cooperation, development of CACAC and its members, better promoting agricultural, economy, trade and technology development and exchanges between China and ASEAN as well as countries along the Belt and Road. 

Long Wen, inspector of the Bureau of Agricultural Means of Production & Cotton and Jute of ACFSMC and president of CACAC unveiled the nameplate of the Expert Committee together with Gao Xiangzhao, chief expert and researcher of the National Agricultural Technology Extension and Service Center, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.

More than 100 representatives from China and ASEAN in the fields of agriculture, economy and trade witnessed the unveiling ceremony, including Zhang Jian, member of the Party Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial Supply and Marketing Cooperatives and deputy director of the Board of Directors, Zhu Zidong, division chief of Lancang-Mekong Agricultural Cooperation Center, Foreign Economic Cooperation Center, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Fan Huiqun, division chief of the Bureau for Agricultural Means of Production & Cotton and Jute of ACFSMC, and vice-president and secretary-general of CACAC, MAM Somony, deputy director of General Directorate of Animal Health and Production, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery, Myo Min Thu, assistant director of Department of Planning, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Kongsy Xayavong, director of division, Promotion Seed Production and Utilization Division, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. Thanee Pak-Uthai, senior economist of Division of Livestock extension and development, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Nguyen Dinh Long, general manager of Center for Social-Economic Programs, Vietnam Cooperative Alliance. Wang Xiaojing, vice secretary-general hosted the ceremony.

The Expert Committee of CACAC consists of experts, entrepreneurs, researchers, and technical backbones in the fields of agriculture, economy, trade, and technology in China, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, etc.. It will actively expand the professional think tank, increase research service capabilities, enhance industry influence, and promote international agricultural cooperation and the development of enterprises and CACAC more scientifically and accurately.
