Cambodia and the European Union (EU) are committed to fostering cooperation on the development of agriculture and natural resources in Cambodia.

The commitment was made in a meeting between Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, and a working group of the EU delegation here in Phnom Penh on Nov. 22.

Tina shared with the EU delegation a new agricultural community policy, which was launched on Nov. 20, adding that the policy needs cooperation and support from development partners as well as other players.

The minister welcomed the EU working group to promote green agri-trade and added value to agricultural products that benefit small-scale farmers.

He also encouraged the EU working group to cooperate and conduct studies on its development projects, especially those in line with the Cambodian government’s priorities.
