Myanmar exported 336.7 tonnes of honey in May, earning US$505,000, the country's Apiculture Division said on June 14.
Myanmar exported 140.7 tonnes of honey to Thailand, 176 tonnes to Japan and 20 tonnes to South Korea during the period, the country's Apiculture Division said.
"Most bee farms in Myanmar are mobile or migrant bee farms that are frequently relocated based on the availability of bee feeds," U Aung Zan Htwe, deputy director-general of the Apiculture Division of Myanmar, told Xinhua.
Myanmar annually produces 4,000-5,000 tonnes of honey in the past years. Of them, the country exports about 3,000 tonnes of honey annually, he said.
In the 2022-23 fiscal year, Myanmar exported more than 1,900 tonnes of honey, earning over $2.8 million, official figures showed.
