From March 20 to 26, 2023, it is the sixth Lancang-Mekong Week and the seventh anniversary of the launch of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation.

As a new sub-regional cooperation mechanism established under the principle of wide consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits between China and Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation has developed rapidly since its launch in March 2016, with in-depth cooperation and fruitful results. It has vigorously promoted the economic and social development of the six countries and brought tangible benefits to the people of all countries.

As one of the five priority areas of Lancang-Mekong cooperation, agriculture has produced good results. After seven years of development, Lancang-Mekong cooperation in agriculture and agricultural materials has yielded fruitful results with diversified cooperation areas and strengthened cooperation foundation. Cooperation and exchanges in agriculture and agricultural materials are growing vigorously and deepening.

China-ASEAN Chamber of Agricultural Commerce (abbreviated as CACAC,) is an international organization established with the permission of the State Council of China, the approval of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China, and headed by All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives (ACFSMC). It is also a practitioner of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Fund Project. On the occasion of the seventh anniversary of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation, CACAC specially launched a series of activities of Celebrating Lancang-Mekong Week 2023 and Enjoying Lancang-Mekong Friendship to publicize the positive outcomes of Lancang-Mekong cooperation in the field of agriculture and agricultural materials, reflect the participation and achievements of ACFSMC and CACAC in Lancang-Mekong cooperation projects, showcase the good effect and great potential of Lancang-Mekong cooperation, and raise the awareness of Lancang-Mekong cooperation, thus further promoting Lancang-Mekong cooperation.

The serial activities of Celebrating Lancang-Mekong Week 2023 and Enjoying Lancang-Mekong Friendship was conducted in forms of setting up column of Lancang-Mekong Week 2023 on the Lancang-Mekong Comprehensive Information Platform for Agriculture,Economy and Trade, Technology, the official website and wechat of CACAC, writing an informative article and a feature article, making short videos+descriptions, editing and printing special issue of Lancang-Mekong Week, etc.

The informative article "Development Course of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (2015-2022)" sorted out the important meetings, important documents and major activities concerning Lancang-Mekong cooperation from 2015 to 2022 to promote and review the rapid development and gratifying achievements of Lancang-Mekong cooperation. The feature article "Progress and Prospects of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation in Agriculture and Agricultural Materials" summarizes the recent situation, achievements, opportunities and challenges of cooperation between the five Mekong countries and China in agriculture and agricultural materials, and puts forward relevant suggestions. Two short videos were also produced based on the 2022 Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Summit for Agriculture, Agricultural Materials, Economy and Trade and the video column of Lancang-Mekong Agriculture Lecture Series, showcasing the implementation of the Lancang-Mekong project by CACAC under the leadership of ACFSMC in 2022, expressing the enthusiasm of ACFSMC and CACAC for participating in Lancang-Mekong cooperation construction and promoting regional development and exchanges in agriculture, agricultural materials, economy and trade, and inviting the public to pay attention to, support and participate in key activities of the 2023 Lancang-Mekong Project.

In 2023, CACAC will continue to earnestly implement Lancang-Mekong cooperation projects, better leverage the function of CACAC as an international organization, and actively organize key activities such as the 2023 Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Summit for Agriculture, Agricultural Materials, Economy and Trade and the Upgrading of the Lancang-Mekong Comprehensive Information Platform for Agriculture,Economy and Trade, Technology. It will strengthen online and offline communication between government departments, cooperatives, associations and chambers of commerce as well as enterprises of China and ASEAN countries, expand matchmaking, and facilitate Lancang-Mekong cooperation and deepen the development and exchanges of agriculture, agricultural materials, economy and trade   between China and ASEAN.

1. Hold the 2023 Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Summit for Agriculture, Agricultural Materials, Economy and Trade. The Summit, sponsored by ACFSMC and specifically undertaken by CACAC, will invite government departments, associations and chambers of commerce, cooperatives, enterprises and experts from Lancang-Mekong countries and other relevant countries to have in-depth exchanges on the development situation and cooperation intentions in agriculture, agricultural materials, economy and trade, technology, projects and investment, demonstrate new products, new technologies and investment cooperation projects to smooth communication channels, tap cooperation potential, and enhance regional cooperation and exchanges in agriculture, agricultural materials, economy and trade .

2. Further upgrade Lancang-Mekong Comprehensive Information Platform for Agriculture, Economy and Trade, Technology. In 2023, CACAC will continue to develop and optimize the functions of the Platform. On the one hand, CACAC will strengthen cooperation with government departments, associations, chambers of commerce and cooperatives of Mekong countries, expand information channels, enrich the content of the platform, and display information of enterprises, products, supply and demand, exchanges and credit of Lancang-Mekong and ASEAN countries in a multi-faceted way. On the other hand, CACAC will enrich the content of the video column of Lancang-Mekong Agriculture Series by inviting experts, entrepreneurs, technical personnels and common people from Lancang-Mekong countries to participate in, and share policies and regulations, agricultural customs, market situation, corporate profiles and supply and demand information of various countries to expand the application of the platform, and enhance Lancang-Mekong cooperation and publicity.

We sincerely invite all parties to cooperate with and join us to exchange information resources, share development achievements, and jointly promote the cooperation, development and exchanges among Lancang-Mekong countries, and countries along the Belt and Road.

It is believed that with our joint efforts, the Lancang-Mekong cooperation, the "flower of blueberries", will be even more beautiful and fruitful, and Lancang-Mekong cooperation on agriculture and agricultural materials will embrace an even brighter future.
