On December 8, 2022, with the support of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Project, the video column of "Lancang-Mekong Agriculture Lecture Series" developed and constructed by China-ASEAN Chamber of Agricultural Commerce (CACAC) was officially released. The release ceremony was held at the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Summit for Agriculture, Agricultural Materials, Economy and Trade, and this column was set up on the website of Lancang-Mekong Comprehensive Information Platform for Agriculture,Economy and Trade, Technology (hereinafter referred to as the “Lancang-Mekong platform”).

This new column, in the form of short video, visually and dynamically demonstrates the current agricultural, economic and trade development situation, achievements, opportunities and challenges thereof in the Lancang-Mekong countries,  helping promote the deepening of cooperation and exchanges between China and Mekong countries as well as ASEAN countries.

Leaders including Hou Shunli, Deputy Director of the Council of ACFSMC, Li Dianping, Director General of Department of Science and Technology, Education, Association and Societies of ACFSMC, Long Wen, President of CACAC, Liu Ting, Deputy Director General of International Cooperation Department of ACFSMC, and Fan Huiqun, Executive vice-president and Secretary-general of CACAC jointly released the "Lancang-Mekong Agriculture Lecture Series"  column.

In the context of the frequent occurrence of the COVID-19 and the limited channels for offline communication and exchange, the release of the video column of "Lancang-Mekong Agriculture Lecture Series" will break the space restrictions, broaden the scope of information, spread knowledge vividly, and show the daily production, life, dynamics, customs and other information of various countries. The column briefly and vividly introduces the policies, regulations and investment environment of Lancang-Mekong countries and ASEAN countries through images and illustrations, and shares the agricultural development, market situation, enterprises profile and supply and demand information of Lancang-Mekong countries. CACAC sincerely invites active participation of experts, entrepreneurs, technicians and common people from Lancang-Mekong countries in this column to strengthen information communication among Lancang-Mekong countries, promote the application of the Lancang-Mekong platform, and enhance the Lancang-Mekong cooperation and publicity.

At present, there are three small sections under the video column.  The first one is the Lecture section which invites agricultural personnel from China, Mekong countries and ASEAN countries to introduce the development of agriculture and agricultural materials of their own countries. The second one is the LMC Week section which mainly displays relevant activities for the anniversary celebration of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation carried out by CACAC. The third one is the Business Exchange section under which are videos of experts sharing the agricultural development, trade cooperation and investment opportunities of various countries, as well as videos of market analysis and promotion made by agricultural enterprises of various countries.

In the future, CACAC will also set up a column on its WeChat Official Account to synchronously update the content of the Lancang-Mekong Agricultural Lecture Series, disseminate the videos widely to expand the influence of the Lancang-Mekong platform and the video column, and better serve the Lancang-Mekong economic and trade cooperation and exchanges.
